Offshore Development Team

Dedicated engineers who work as part of your team. Not a separate delivery function. Not outsourcing with a different label.

Offshore Does Not Mean Outsourced

Traditional offshore development means handing over a spec and getting deliverables back. You manage a relationship, not a team. Requirements get lost in translation. Quality depends on how well you write acceptance criteria. The feedback loop runs through project managers and time zones.

Our model is structurally different. We hire engineers specifically for your stack and embed them in your team. They attend your standups, push to your repos, and follow your code review process. The word “offshore” describes where the engineers sit. It does not describe how they work.

With our first client, we started with a single engineer. That engineer joined the client’s Slack on day one, had a pull request merged by the end of week one, and was conducting code reviews on colleagues’ work within a month. Today the client runs a complete cross-functional team.

How Our Offshore Model Works

  • Berlin-managed. Our leadership is Berlin-based with over a decade of experience in the DACH tech ecosystem. We understand the expectations of German engineering culture: direct communication, high code quality standards, and process discipline.
  • Pakistan-delivered. Our recruitment pipeline accesses a deep pool of senior engineers. Pakistan produces over 25,000 IT graduates annually, with a growing segment experienced in modern stacks (TypeScript, Python, React, Node.js, cloud-native architectures).
  • Hired to spec. We do not maintain a bench. When you engage us, we recruit engineers specifically for your stack, your domain, and your team’s working style.

Cost Advantage Without Quality Tradeoff

A senior engineer in Germany costs EUR 127,000 to 147,000 in year one when you include employer contributions, recruitment fees, and ramp-up costs. Our offshore model delivers comparable engineering capacity at a fraction of that cost.

The cost difference is not about paying engineers less for the same work. It is about accessing a talent market where senior engineering salaries reflect local cost of living, while engineering quality reflects global standards. For a full cost comparison across models, see our analysis of what staff augmentation actually costs in Germany.

Communication and Overlap

Pakistan (UTC+5) provides 3-4 hours of natural overlap with Central European Time. That window, roughly 12:00 to 16:00 CET, is used for standups, pair programming, and real-time collaboration. Implementation, code reviews, and documentation happen asynchronously.

This async-first model is not a compromise. Teams that protect focus time and communicate in writing often outperform co-located teams on throughput. The key is deliberate use of synchronous hours and strong async practices.

When an Offshore Team Makes Sense

  • Post-funding scaling. You need to grow the team faster than local hiring allows. The offshore model compresses time-to-start from months to weeks.
  • Budget optimization. Your runway needs to cover more engineering capacity per euro. Offshore teams deliver more output per unit of cost without sacrificing quality.
  • Scarce local talent. Your stack or domain has limited talent availability in your market. A larger geographic search radius solves the problem.
  • Proving the model. You want to test embedded augmentation before committing to a large team. Start with one engineer offshore, validate the integration, then scale.
